Welcome from Our Head of School

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, there is a wonderful energy on our campus. Classrooms are alive with curiosity, friendships are taking shape, and our students are once again doing what Wyndcroft students have done for generations: learning, growing, taking risks, and discovering what they are capable of becoming.

Our theme this year is Strong at the Roots, a fitting expression for a school that has been educating children since 1918. Wyndcroft is proud of its traditions and equally committed to preparing children for the world ahead. We believe those ideas belong together. Children thrive when they are grounded in strong relationships, enduring values, and a genuine sense of belonging, while also being challenged to think deeply, explore boldly, and develop the confidence to find their own voices.

That balance is one of the things I have come to value most about Wyndcroft. This is an academically ambitious school, but it is also a deeply personal one. Our teachers know our students well. Small classes allow them to recognize individual strengths, provide meaningful challenge, and respond when a child needs encouragement or support. From our youngest learners through eighth grade, students are invited to participate fully in the life of the school, whether in the classroom, on stage, on the playing field, through service, or as leaders in our community.

The results speak for themselves. Wyndcroft graduates leave us ready for the strongest secondary schools in our region and beyond. More importantly, they leave knowing how to advocate for themselves, contribute to a community, embrace challenge, and engage with the world around them. Our graduates carry with them the spirit of Non Sibi, “not for oneself,” a motto that has shaped this school for more than a century.

After my first full year as Head of School, I have an even greater appreciation for what makes this community special. There is an uncommon combination of warmth and aspiration here. We know children can be both happy and challenged, supported and independent, grounded in tradition and prepared for what comes next. Childhood should be joyful, but it should also be consequential. These are formative years, and we take seriously the privilege of helping children build the foundation for the people they will become.

Of course, a website can only tell you so much about a school. Wyndcroft is best understood by experiencing it.
