The Future of STEM

Innovation Meets Education

We are delighted to share exciting news about the future of STEM education at The Wyndcroft School.

In 2023, we piloted our STEM program to explore new ways of engaging students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The program sparked creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking across our school, and the community response exceeded all expectations.

Now, building on that success, we are proud to announce that STEM will become a core academic class for all students in Grades Pre-K–8 beginning fall 2025, marking its transformation into a signature program at Wyndcroft.

This strategic enhancement reflects our commitment to preparing students for the world they will inherit—a world where innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are essential. By making STEM a core component of our curriculum, we are deepening our commitment to provide a future-focused, hands-on, and engaging learning experience for every student.

What’s in Store for the 2025-2026 School Year

What’s in Store for the 2025-2026 School Year

  • STEM as a Core Upper School Class: Students in fifth through eighth grade have regularly scheduled STEM periods as part of their academic rotation.
  • STEM in Lower School: Technology Integration class is now absorbed into the STEM curriculum, which allows for three STEM periods instead of two per cycle.
  • Virtual Reality: There is an integration of the Avantis Education Virtual Reality Headsets to enhance immersive learning experiences across the curriculum, becoming one of only 900 schools in the country with this technology.
  • Interdisciplinary Projects: There are scheduled opportunities for interdisciplinary projects that bolster subject-level content knowledge and include the full use of STEM resources.

We believe this exciting change further positions Wyndcroft as a place where innovation happens, caring connections are made, and leaders emerge.
