School Leadership

At The Wyndcroft School, our leaders are deeply committed to the school's mission and our motto Non Sibi: not for oneself but for the good of others.

Meet Mr. Wilson Felter, Head of School

Throughout his career, Wilson has been a passionate advocate for children and the educators who guide them, known for building strong, inclusive communities rooted in trust, collaboration, and joyful learning.

Wilson began his career in the Washington, D.C. area, where he taught social studies and language arts and coached athletics at Capitol Hill Day School, Mater Dei School, and Sandy Spring Friends School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a scholarship student-athlete, and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from George Washington University.

Over the past two decades, Wilson has held senior leadership positions in Quaker schools in Philadelphia. As Associate Head of School at Greene Street Friends School, he played a key role in strategic initiatives, program development, and community engagement. Most recently, he served as Director of Middle School at William Penn Charter School, leading a division of 240 students and 35 faculty and staff with a focus on experiential learning, student wellness, and educational innovation.

Wilson’s leadership is grounded in creating psychologically safe environments where teams can thrive, and students are known and valued. He has mentored emerging leaders, launched parent education initiatives, strengthened admission and development partnerships, and built systems that foster communication and connection across all school constituencies.

In addition to his school-based leadership, Wilson has served on the boards of several independent schools, contributing his expertise in governance, strategic planning, and institutional advancement. He is also a lifelong learner and athlete who enjoys golf, squash, swimming, and learning new games.

Wilson lives in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Jeanne. They are the proud parents of three children—Josh, Darcy, and Casey—and share their home with their beloved rescue lab, Callie. Rooted in his Quaker faith and a deep belief in the transformative power of education, Wilson is excited to lead The Wyndcroft School into its next chapter with vision, humility, and heart.

Wyndcroft Board of Trustees

The Wyndcroft School is governed by an independent Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees consists of a group of dedicated men and women who offer strategic expertise, resources, and a variety of perspectives that enable the School to achieve its mission and strategic objectives. Consistent with NAIS Standards of Good Practice in Governance, the Board of Trustees is not involved in the daily operation of the School. Rather, the Board is responsible for ensuring that the School’s mission remains relevant to the community it serves, as well as for monitoring the success of the school in fulfilling its mission. The Board of Trustees accomplishes this by planning strategically, maintaining good fiduciary oversight, and focusing its efforts on projects that will benefit the School into the future. The Head of School serves as a non-voting member of the Board of Trustees.

Each February, the Board of Trustees hosts an open board meeting during which the full school membership is invited to come together and hear from the Board President, the Head of School, and the chairs of each committee regarding the state of the School.
