Biography
Ms. Lisa Katarynick is Wyndcroft’s art teacher and is thrilled to be part of the Wyndcroft community. Beyond the instruction and cultivating students’ creativity, Ms. K, as she is known by Wyndcroft students, instills that “Art is good for us!” Art helps reduce stress, build self-confidence, and sharpen problem-solving skills. Not only is it a powerful outlet for expressing feelings and emotions, art promotes creative thinking which fosters innovation and creativity in all aspects of our lives.
Previously, Ms. Katarynick was an Art Teacher at Chester Community Charter School in Chester PA and the Program Director/Art Instructor at Barnstone Art For Kids in Phoenixville, PA. Ms. Katarynick has held various art related jobs in her career including positions as an art director and graphic designer in book, magazine and music publishing, broadcast news as well as art education for children both privately and on a community level.
Ms. Katarynick received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design and a Computer Graphics Certificate from Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, PA. She is experienced in trauma informed care, receiving that additional professional development through courses and workshops at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. Ms. Katarynick also holds a certificate in Mental Health First Aid for Youth from the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare. What she loves most about Wyndcroft is the strong sense of community and the genuine connection among the families, students, and faculty. I especially appreciate the students’ curiosity, kindness, and enthusiasm for learning, which creates such a positive and inspiring culture throughout the school.
